Vacancy Description
An exciting opportunity for someone who wants to embark on a unique training programme of Caravan and Motorhome repair with a view to becoming a CITO approved technician within the industry. Working with the team at an established Caravan and Motorhome repair centre the duties will include all aspects of motorhome and caravan repair including:

– Servicing of caravans
– Internal and External repairs
– Interior fittings
– Accessory fittings
– Gas and Electrical testing
– Damp testing
– Habitation checks
– Propex and Whale Heater repair
– Fitting of LPG Vapour tanks
– Discussing work carried out with customers

Training to be Provided
As an Apprentice, you will study towards the following: Functional Maths and English if required. Also included in the 3 year programme are the qualifications that form the approved CITO training for Caravan and Motorhome Technicians: City and Guilds Caravan Service Engineering Award ACoPs Gas training qualification Electrical Level 2 Test & Inspection Higher Level ELV Electrical Systems, Equipment and Service qualification
Learning Provider Description Central College Nottingham offers a comprehensive range of further and higher education courses and training opportunities for business and industry.

Expected Duration 36 Months

This gives you an indication of the amount of time your training will last.

Skills Required
Hands on – Efficient – Good customer service skills – Mechanically minded – Eager to learn
Qualifications Required
A* – D in Maths/English (or equivalent)
Personal Qualities
Outgoing – Confident – Professional – close attention to detail – Keen interest in mechanics – Interest in caravans/motor homes would be ideal
Important Other Information
With effect from October 1st 2014 the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £2.73 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
